A major step forward: expanding housing in Mendocino County

We are excited to share an important milestone in Magdalena’s journey: we have signed a preliminary memorandum of understanding with key partners to build and deploy dozens of new housing units in Mendocino County over the next 6 to 12 months.

Magdalena was born in Yorkville, a small town in Anderson Valley, Mendocino County, and this initiative reflects our deep commitment to the place we call home. Once complete, these units will provide accessible and sustainable housing options that make a material difference for communities across the county.

Magdalena will oversee the construction, delivery, and installation of the homes. To ensure high-quality ongoing operations, professional property managers will be engaged by the fund established to support this deployment. Importantly, residents of these homes will have attractive purchase options, allowing them to secure a long-term, permanent housing solution and build stability for their future.

The units will be delivered gradually over the course of the next 6 to 12 months, rather than all at once, ensuring a thoughtful rollout that best serves both residents and communities.

We are also inviting participation from across Mendocino County:

  • Prospective residents: Anyone in need of housing is welcome to apply for one of these units.

  • Local landowners: By leasing land to Magdalena, property owners can directly contribute to addressing the housing shortage while generating steady income from their land. Interested land owners should schedule a consultation.

We believe this project has the potential to create a lasting positive impact, expanding housing opportunities while strengthening the fabric of the community. Most importantly, it reflects our commitment to collaborating with local stakeholders to provide real solutions for the people of Mendocino County.

We are deeply grateful for the support we’ve received so far and look forward to sharing more updates as this vision becomes reality.
